In this video I share ideas for interesting decorative stitches you can use for slow stitching flowers.
This includes weaving both anchored and loose, chain stitch, fly stitch, pistil like stitches, cast on stitches and drizzle stitches.
These colourful flowers are part of my Fleur Woods inspired fabric collage that features vintage doilies and vibrant Freida Kahlo inspired hand painted laces and embellishments.
After all of the excitement, inspiration and joy of the Fleur Woods Textile and Fibre Art Retreat I couldn’t resist continuing to create and draw on the energy from the retreat.
It was such an incredible week with Fleur Woods fibre artist extraordinaire at the beautiful Green Door studios hosted by Zoe Wood. #slowstitching #artretreat
In this video I share continuing work on my textile and slow stitch collage piece that I will be progressively slow stitching heavily with lots of different stitches in differing combinations and using a variety of yarns, threads and wools.
I have added laces and doilies that I vibrantly coloured with Derwent Inktense blocks while at the Fleur Woods Retreat at Green Door studio’s.
