This contraption (amzn.to/3E3Pp0y) which lists for $9.95USD promises to allow you to join together leftover bits of filament into one single roll. It has prove most difficult to use since it comes with no instructions and I had to find a 45 second video of someone using it.
After 5 or 6 tries I was able to get a decent looking "weld" but I think that it will get caught up in the extruder and I don't want to take that apart and clean it out.
