This video is about operating solo in the field day making everything alone: starting from erecting a mast, assembling antennas to running an Icom IC-705 with no assistance for 24 hours (well, I took a 2 hours nap ...).
I was running also a power amplifier on 2m band. It's almost an "antique" device by RF Concepts I bought a few years ago. I like it because it gives out more than 100W with just 2-3 W input. It's a very nice pair with an IC-705!
My 2m antenna was a 6EL YAGI made by the Swedish company Vargarda Radio AB. I have more VHF antennas from this company since some 25 years now and they all run nicely. As nicely runs my almost 30 years old 10m aluminum mast by the German Wimo company. I have no links with no one of these companies, I just mention their names, because I like buying things from them with my own money :). You may have different experience with them - go leave a comment below!
My solar panels did well getting my RV battery fully charged for the night and then again re-charged next morning. So, the Field Day was fun despite mosquitoes and pretty hot weather!
