WV is a subset of OLL+LS. It is useful when all edges are correctly oriented on the LL and your last pair requires a R U2 R or L U2 L insertion to finish F2L. It involves solving the last pair and orienting the LL corners in one algorithm. Sometimes people may wonder what else can they learn in order to get faster after learning ZZ or full CFOP. Rob recommends starting with this set of algs. Recognition is as easy as OLL and these algorithms are not long or complicated.
