When people around the world talk about geysers, most don’t realize they’re referencing a place in Iceland: Geysir (GAY-seer), which literally means “the gusher.” While the original Geysir geyser is no longer very active, the geothermal field around it still steams, boils, and bubbles nonstop, regularly punctuated by a dramatic eruption of scalding water from the one predictably active geyser, Strokkur. This stop is pretty simple: Watch Strokkur erupt a couple of times, look at the rest of the field, and then continue on.
