🎣 Ice Fishing Upper Red Lake – Minnesota’s Walleye Wonderland! ❄️
Join us on the ice at Upper Red Lake in northern Minnesota — one of the state’s premier winter fishing destinations! At about 120,000 acres with a max depth around 15 ft, this vast shallow lake freezes early, making it perfect for ice anglers.
👉 Target fish include walleye, northern pike, yellow perch, and crappie, with walleye being the star of the show during hardwater season. The winter walleye limit on the Minnesota-managed waters of Upper Red Lake is 4 walleyes per angler (only one over 17″) — Make sure to check the regs!
🐟 Fun Fact: Nearly half of Upper Red Lake’s water lies within the Red Lake Indian Reservation — some of the best fishing spots are accessible only with the help of local guides!
