Laptop Retrospective | IBM Service Training VHS ThinkPad 701C/CS @LaptopRetrospective | Uploaded July 2023 | Updated October 2024, 20 minutes ago.
When a new product is launched, several branches of a company need to be trained on that new product. This includes marketing teams, salespersons, technical support and repair technicians. IBM provided this training through in-person training sessions and in certain situations, service tapes. These service tapes would be distributed to train personnel on troubleshooting and repairing the devices they shipped. Generally speaking, these tapes haven’t survived and can be very rare. This tape features a complete disassembly of the ThinkPad 701c as well as a hinge replacement procedure for the ThinkPad 700c. The tape isn’t in the best condition but as a historical artifact, it is still completely functional. It is provided unaltered as a historical object and educational guide and no ownership over the content is claimed. It has been uploaded in the hopes of preserving this information for future generations, educational use and research. The intent is to make this video available under "Fair Use." Please enjoy.
