We got in the Ironlak Studio with typography wizard, brush master, and all round legend Ian McCallum.
Over a few days in the studio, a grip of Ironlak Heavy Body Acrylics, Ironlak brushes and pretty much any other paint product in reach; we watched Ian create two of his signature type mash-ups. Ians process is considered from the very start, capturing sign-writing local to the Lak studio on his digital camera, and transferring to the canvas with brain-surgeon-like steadiness and precision. Ian then layers his formal knowledge of typography with some chaotic strokes and smudges that give his work it's distinctive look.
