This is now possible because the python module pyopenvdb is now pre-packaged with Blender version 3.5,
The pyopenvdb module allows you to create openvdb files from numpy arrays and import them into your blender scene. This new feature is going to be great for scientists who want to display their scientific data in Blender. It will also be great for Blender add-on developers who want to create custom volumes from python code.
Examples of this code can be found in my open source MedBlend Add-On for Blender. (Still in Development)

In the latest version of Reality Capture, you can now export your models to Sketchfab for free.
In this demonstration I used a Sony RX100 Mark II camera and a cheap cake decorating turntable from Ebay. The lightbox was also purchased cheaply from Ebay.
I took photos of the key from all angles at two heights and then flipped the key over and took more photos from two additional angles.
I then imported these images separately into Reality capture, masked the images to remove the turntable from the images and then reconstructed the mesh from all photos.

You may be familiar with this type of art from the movie “Sweet Home Alabama”.
In this video, I show some simulated electron trees which are made with high energy particle accelerators which direct the radiation towards an insulating material, in this case, acrylic. As the radiation deposits energy in the acrylic or plexiglass, charge is accumulated in the plastic which is unable to escape. By damaging the edge of the plastic with a grounded tool such as a screwdriver, the charge is allowed to escape and creates these amazing Electron trees inside the plastic.Blender Super Resolution using Pixelmator Photo for iPhoneMicro Singularity2022-05-24 | A demonstration of the AI super resolution, denoiser and content aware filters in the iOS Pixelmator Photo app and how it can be used to increase the resolution of Blender renders. Slice and Dice Add-on for Blender youtu.be/gOByTZ1-er0How to use the Slice and Dice Add-on for Blender 3.1 - Blender TutorialMicro Singularity2022-04-02 | In this Blender tutorial I will be showing you how to use the new "Slice and Dice" add-on for Blender 3.1.
Slice and Dice is an amazing new add-on for creating slices through your meshes in a variety of regular and chaotic ways. It allows rapid development of rigid body physics simulations as well as enabling a new approach to abstract art creation. It is also ideal for all the Minecraft fans out there that want to cubify their meshes.
Ever wanted to slice up your mesh into tiny little pieces in Blender, or convert your models into a Minecraft style geometry.
Whether it be for an artistic style you are looking for or you just want to make some awesome rigid body simulations in Blender, this is the add on for you.
This add on lets you take any mesh object and slice it up anyway you want to. You can slice it up into evenly sized cubes, rectangles or just hack a mesh to pieces by adding randomised slices. You can separate the broken pieces and then apply rigid body physics and watch your masterpiece collapse into a satisfying pile of entropy.
Unlike the Remesh modifier in Blender which only voxelizes the exterior geometry of your mesh, Slice and Dice will convert your mesh into separate cubes enabling you to deconstruct and reconstruct your meshes block-by-block, enabling you to live out your Minecraft dreams inside Blender.

Vagon has some very fast computer specifications for running your software and it is very easy to use. In some circumstances, Vagon may actually be cheaper than upgrading your current PC.
As part of this tutorial, I show how you can run Blender on your phone or tablet using this service and run some comparison speed tests to demonstrate just how fast this service is.

The Cycles render has always supported caustics but due to how the cycles Render engine works, it was always virtually impossible to render realistic caustics because of the number of samples required to converge.
But in this experimental version of Blender, you can now render realistic caustics in glass, water and other transparent materials.

If you’ve been rendering your blender scenes on google colab for a while, you might have found that colab will occasionally disconnect unless you click on the screen once every so often.
I’ve found this really annoying ,so today I’m going to show you how to fix this. This solution comes from Jeff Heaton from his YouTube channel on training deep learning models on Google Colab.
You just need to run a small Java script in your browser to simulate a mouse click every once in a while.
#blender #colab3D Scanning with Metascan - Lidar and Photogrammetry on iPhone 13Micro Singularity2021-11-26 | Hi Everyone,
In this review of the Metascan app for iPhone and iPad, I hope to demonstrate why this is the best lidar scanning and photogrammetry app available on the apple store right now.
The LiDAR 3D Scanner produces the cleanest scans of rooms and spaces compared with other lidar apps I have tried. The photogrammetry app is based on the Apple object capture API and produces very high quality 3D models.

In general I found Polycam's photogrammetry feature significantly out performed the models produced with the LiDAR Scanner especially smaller, more detailed objects. The LiDAR Scanner works well for rooms, buildings and larger objects but struggles with small, detailed objects.
Some of the lidar scans were acquired using the Scaniverse app as well as Polycam. How to Fix Google Colab and Blender CUDA Errors - Blender TutorialMicro Singularity2021-11-05 | In this Blender and Google Colab tutorial, I will be showing you how to fix two common errors reported by viewers. The first is the "Found no cycles device of the specific type" or "Device does not support queues" and the second is the "Failed to create CUDA context" or "Invalid Value in CuCtxDestroy". These are very simple problems to fix.

In this video, I will be demonstrating some of my early attempts at using the iPhone 13 Pro LiDAR Scanner using the Scaniverse app which was recently bought out by Niantic. All pro features are now free!
I have scanned a few objects of varying scale and textures around my house to test the performance of the iPhone 13 Lidar system.
In general, I found the LiDAR Scanner to be a very convenient and somewhat accurate tool for making 3D models for Blender. However, in my experience, photogrammetry is still much more accurate, especially for smaller objects. Lidar works very well for large rooms or generating reference objects for modelling but still suffers from poor reconstruction accuracy in many cases.
