Hello everyone and welcome to a new video!

This may very well be considered a 'lockdown experiment' since I was bored from being at home. However, I had been hoping I could go out more so that there were more interesting corset-related situations, but alas, the times did not allow! I wore a variety of corsets over this month and things I have learned: always wear something (preferably natural fibres) underneath your corset; wear layers to disguise corset under modern clothes (if wanted); only wear corsets in a COMFORTABLE way, lace as much or as little as you are comfortable with; corsets drafted to your measurements will always fit better and be more comfortable; sitting on a sofa is a bit awkward, but doable; sitting on chairs is fine and some corsets can provide great back support.

I was not uncomfortable, I did not faint, or cry, or die. I was able to breathe as usual, even with a mask on too! Shocking. A lot of these preconceptions about corsets have been perpetuated by Hollywood and the media, and though there were, of course, women who tight-laced, women who advocated for dress reform and disliked corsets, the subject is a lot more complex than 'corsets were similar to torture devices'. This is a topic I am really interested in and have been doing some more research, I highly recommend the book 'The Corset: A Cultural History' by Valerie Steele if you too are interested!
