When Kathy was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, her care team at Dartmouth instantly sent her tumor in for additional testing. The testing revealed that Kathy had a biomarker called ALK positive.

Because of this, Kathy does targeted therapy, and for her, that means taking one pill a day. Kathy describes it as "winning the cancer lottery."
