Hello! This is my second MAP, and it's an AU for one of my favorite characters, Squirrelflight. Think of it as a sort of "Evil Ashfur" AU as well. The full story is available underneath the parts list if you would like to read more about it!

Everything is the same as canon, up until the fire scene. Ashfur confronts Squirrelflight in the fire scene and threatens to kill her kits. Out of anger and desperation, Squirrelflight snarls that she had never loved him, hoping he would leave her alone. He begins to protest, but she quietly snarls “they may not be Brambleclaw’s, but they would have never been yours.” Something snaps in Ashfur once he figures out what she means, and through a red haze he attacks Squirrelflight directly, aiming to kill her. She manages to throw him off her, but he stumbles backwards and falls into the fire, his life ending there. None of the Three heard Squirrelflight’s implied confession to Ashfur over the fire and the argument, but the guilt begins eating up Squirrelflight inside. The Three agree to protect Squirrelflight’s secret, but Hollyleaf is torn between the warrior code being against murder and wanting to help her mother. Days pass of heightening tension, until Hollyleaf attacks Squirrelflight while the latter is out on a solo patrol. Squirrelflight lives, but she doesn’t see who attacked her.

Hollyleaf then goes to the Gathering to make the announcement that Squirrelflight killed Ashfur, and Squirrelflight says she only defending herself. But to explain why he did attacked hwe, she has to admit that the Three aren’t hers and Brambleclaw’s - they’re Leafpool’s and Crowfeather’s. Hollyleaf is shocked at the announcement, and from here canon loops back in, and she goes down into the tunnels in the same way. Canon passes the same as it had before, with everyone angry and ashamed of Squirrelflight and Leafpool.

Ashfur goes to the Dark Forest, charged on four direct attempts at murder and one successful plot to kill Firestar, and he stews there in his resentment and bitterness. When Ivypaw visits the Dark Forest, Ashfur jumps at the chance to train her to use against Squirrelflight in his revenge. However, Ashfur is far too aggressive and overbearing for a mentor, and he accidentally kills Ivypool one day as he gets caught up in his anger at Squirrelflight. Ivypool’s spirit is trapped in the Dark Forest, until the Dark Forest battle where she can finally break free and go to StarClan. Squirrelflight kills Ashfur once and for all with Ivypool’s help in the final battle.
