I spent an early morning at Pike Place Market in Seattle and ended up with a haul from three incredible indie bookstores dwelling inside the market. If you think Pike Place is just fish tossers and flower stalls, think again...it can be a fun spot for readers and book lovers too.
📍 Indie bookstores I visited:
Pine Books – This lower-level gem is lovely to behold and the stock is
Lamplight Books – This cozy shop is a hidden gem specializing in literary fiction and has a deep nonfiction section. The dollar cart outside the store is fun to peruse. Loved seeing the stack of Murakami and Lovecraft on the cash register counter!
Left Bank Books Collective – This entirely worker-owned, political bookstore is right out in the thick of street activity. If nothing else, go to look at all the stickers and pamphlets and pins plastering the interior walls.
Whether you're planning a Seattle trip, love indie bookstore hauls, or just want to live vicariously through a book shopping spree, this video is for you. Pike Place Market has a surprising, thriving little book scene and I'm so glad to have visited it.
