I went backpacking with the IDEAL budget backpacking kit! This is the finale (for now) of my 5 part series testing budget gear from major outdoor brands and retailers!! This time I took the best of the best gear from the series (plus a couple new pieces of gear you haven't seen yet) out on a frigid overnight backpacking trip to Ancient Lakes in the high desert of coulee country in Washington State! I had two main goals: test if my favorite piece of budget gear in each category would work as one cohesive ideal budget backpacking kit, and test a new budget pack and sleeping pad. I had struggled to find a pack I felt good recommending, as well as a sleeping pad, and so in this video I am testing the 3F UL QiDian ultralight pack, and the Paria Outdoors RechargeXL insulated sleeping pad! With these two new budget gear discoveries, and almost 5 months of testing, have I found the IDEAL budget backpacking kit? Watch the video to see!
