For years, I couldn’t stand Halo 5’s REQ system or its variant weapons. But recently, Halo Infinite started adding its own weapon variants in surprisingly clever ways… and it made me rethink everything.
In this video, I revisit Halo 5’s weapon variants—what worked, what didn’t, and why I’ve changed my mind. From iconic REQ weapons like the Void’s Tear and Blood of Suban to Infinite’s new Avenger and Fuel Rod SPNKR, we’re looking at how creative reuse and low-budget design can actually add real value to Halo’s sandbox.
