Doing a search I found this classic MTV opening...the first time it was broadcast 43 years ago...wow...when television was television!

On August 1, 1981 (43 years ago)
MTV (Music Television) began broadcasting in the United States. It was a music television channel originally established by Warner-Amex Satellite Entertainment. The first video to be broadcast was by the English group The Buggles.
Since 2011, the channel decided to remove the legend Music Television from its logo, thus making it official that it is no longer just a music channel!
