This is a drawing I made of Marella Redek from the book series Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger. It is based on a conversation from the ninth book, Stellarlune. The first time I read this segment I immediately decided I wanted to draw Marella pretending to go crazy, and I was reminded of the song World Burn from Mean Girls the Musical... so now this exists.
I have a few notes to make on this piece.
1. If you think Marella's dress looks familiar... no you don't.
2. I would feel like a cheat and liar if I didn't admit this- and I still feel like a cheater even with admitting it- but ah, the left hand is partially traced. I didn't use someone else's art; I used an actual photograph of a hand. I just couldn't get the fingers to look right no matter what I tried, so I ended up tracing a photo. Am I proud I did that? No. But as long as I didn't steal anyone else's art and I'm not falsely claiming that I drew it, I don't think I'm in the wrong.
