I used to e-beg.
That’s not something I’m particularly proud to say, but today I wanted to have an honest conversation about what e-begging actually is, how I personally fell into it, and what eventually made me change.
This video is entirely about my own experience. I’m not calling out other creators, judging how anybody else runs their content, or pretending I have all the answers.
Instead, I look back at some of the circumstances and decisions that led me down that path, why I now believe it was the wrong approach, and how my perspective on streaming, money, support and my audience has changed over time.
I’ve become much more gracious about support and much more understanding that everyone has their own circumstances. Looking back, there are things I would handle very differently today.
Sometimes growing as a creator also means being willing to look at your own mistakes.
Hopefully sharing mine gives somebody something useful to think about.
