Watch how I used a standard webcam to turn a flat 2D monitor into a 3D window! This is a real-time demonstration of the "Off-Axis Projection" effect using head tracking.
About This Project:
In this video, I demonstrate a software experiment that tracks the user's face position (X, Y, Z coordinates) via a webcam. By feeding these coordinates into the 3D engine, the camera's perspective shifts instantly to match the user's viewing angle.
This creates Motion Parallax—a powerful depth cue that makes the wireframe room look like it actually exists inside the monitor, rather than just being projected onto it. It's similar to the technology used in "The Holodeck" or the famous Johnny Lee Wii Remote hack, but running on a modern desktop setup.
