LUX OBSCURA is an independently produced electric violin metal album. It is the result of years of composing and throwing in the bin 90% of what I made, crisis, loss of identity, change, growth, and of discovering what my electric violin can become when I stop asking it to fit into a traditional box.
The album tells the story of an outsider who goes through hardship, tries to isolate, and discovers that the more they hide, the more the darkness inside them grows. Eventually, that inner darkness becomes something that fights back. This is a story about accepting our shadow, understanding it, learning to live with all the parts of ourselves.
The story is deeply personal, but it was written for anyone who has ever felt like they had to hide, change, or fight to be accepted for who they are.
Musically, the album lives at the intersection of prog metal, video game music and cinematic orchestration, with electric violin at its centre.
