You're probably aware of this famous author: Dan Brown. Today I'm giving you a look into his 4am writing routine.
Dan Brown is the author of numerous #1 bestselling novels, including The Da Vinci Code, which has become one of the best-selling novels of all time. His novels are published in 56 languages around the world with over 200 million copies in print. He’s had his books adapted to films starring A-List talent such as Tom Hanks, and you could even find a season of The Lost Symbol that was based on his best-selling thriller on Peacock.
What I use in my video:

I completed Dan Brown’s MasterClass in 2019 while my husband and I were working on a farm. There were takeaways from the course that I have applied to my writing, but I have always wanted to challenge myself to attempt his writing process.
I’ve had a table read for the first draft of a screenplay that I’ve been working on for the past few months, and if there’s one thing that I love to procrastinate, it’s digesting feedback.
This seemed like an ideal time to try out Dan’s process because it would involve me sitting down, avoiding distractions, and doing the work.
So this is Dan’s routine.
He wakes up at 4 am and after every hour he does a few push-ups and sit-ups.
I think it may just be the perfect technique to apply to my first day back writing after receiving some notes. I find that because I have to start at 4am, it’s too early too procrastinate or self-sabotage, and therefore it’s less intimidating to face notes and changes.
