Singapore has officially opened its new HarbourFront Ferry Terminal, and I wanted to see if it actually makes a same-day Batam trip easier. In this video, I test the new terminal from start to finish - from the new self-service check-in kiosks and automated immigration to the waiting area, boarding process and ferry ride. Then I put the classic Singaporean Batam itinerary to the test.
Overall, I think the new terminal is a clear improvement. It feels cleaner, more modern and removes a lot of the friction that ferry travel used to have. But does it make Batam a better day trip than Johor Bahru? Watch until the end for my verdict.
