Opuntia stricta grows along the coastlines of the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean. While exploring the coastline I found this prickly pear to be extremely common. The fruit is absolutely delightful to eat. Many other wild foods are available in this area as well as resources to facilitate primitive survival.
