On August 7, 2020, on a very rainy day in Kerala, a flight headed from Dubai to Kozhikode crashed when it overshot a runway. 21 people, including the pilot, co-pilot and children, were killed. Ashik Perumbal was on board with his brother and friends. He dislocated both his shoulders in the accident and his group barely made it out alive.
