Testing my inflatable Star Trek chair at Cox Bay, near Tofino and Pacific Rim National Park, on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada.
Also appearing in the video are Emily Kazanowski and Wendy Lightbody. Camera work by Stephanie Johanson, using Nikon Cool Pix HD waterproof.

I wrote the lyrics to "I Surf Dressed Like Captain Kirk," because as an artist I couldn't see myself not doing that. I used some digital technology to produce the song. Salute and respect to artists who don't need any variety of digital help to output what's in their head.

I admit I have a strange quirk
I surf dressed like Captain Kirk
People stopped to look, but I didn’t care
Instead of my board, I used a chair.

I don’t mean to smirk

I guess I really want to gloat
I somehow got my chair to float
But sadly I just seem to drop
Whenever I try to sit on top

If the water’s clear or murk

I got all tangled up in kelp
So decided to get help
And even though they lent a hand
I still wound up pushed into sand

My chair does some outrageous motion
While floating on the open ocean
No matter what happens I don’t frown
Even when I’m upside down

I really hope this doesn’t irk

I don’t do this in caves
I only do it in the waves
And I think I show a lot of class
Even when I get knocked on my ass

When I take a break from work
I surf dressed like Captain Kirk

The wave never wash me away
When I chair surf up at Cox Bay
When I still wanted to surf some more
The waves pushed my chair right to the shore

I don’t go Berserk when
