Ever put a NAS in a shed? 😅
Well, I did! In this video, I unbox and set up the UGREEN NAS DH2300 - a beginner-friendly 2-bay NAS - in RAID 1 using two 4TB Seagate IronWolf drives. This NAS gets configured as a mirrored backup, so my data is doubly safe even if one drive decides to throw itself into the void of data death.
Watch as I start to back up my some retro gaming ROM images and ISO files over SMB, so hopefully no more losing those rare game files. For the software side, I take a tour of UGOS Pro (UGREEN’s NAS operating system) and its features:
✅ Remote access from anywhere – I can grab files from the NAS even when I’m away from the cabin.
✅ An App Centre full of extras to extend the NAS’s functionality.
✅ Built-in photo gallery & media streaming – my cabin just got its own Netflix for movies and retro game images.
✅ Antivirus scanning to keep everything (even my Space Invaders ROMs) free from digital cooties.
