I attended the US premiere of The Da Vinci Code stage adaptation at the gorgeous Ogunquit Playhouse in Maine. While the theater itself is stunning and full of charm, I have some mixed feelings about the show itself. The constant exposition doesn't translate well to the stage, and the comedic bits feel forced, even with talented actors like Michael Urie. The modern dance moves also felt out of place with the urgent drama. Overall, it succeeds thanks to name recognition, but might disappoint critics.
