Blood of Dawnwalker has a lot going for it. After spending time playing the game on stream, I came away genuinely impressed by its story, dark fantasy atmosphere, world, characters, and some of the ambitious ideas Rebel Wolves is bringing to this vampire RPG. Unfortunately, actually playing Blood of Dawnwalker is where things start to fall apart.
In this video, I give my first impressions of Blood of Dawnwalker and discuss the good, the bad, and the frustrating. While I'm really enjoying the story, tone, and overall concept, the technical side of the game has been a much different experience. From controls failing and general gameplay frustrations to performance and optimization problems, Dawnwalker can feel incredibly rough despite having the foundations of something special.
I REALLY want to love this game. There's an RPG here that I think could be fantastic—but right now, you have to fight through quite a bit of technical messiness to experience it.
