Brian Carn has reportedly written what many are calling an “epistle from prison,” and in this video on All Things Theology, we’re taking a closer look at what was said, how it’s being received, and why some people are comparing Carn’s situation to the Apostle Paul.
There’s a major difference between simply writing a letter while incarcerated and using biblical language, apostolic imagery, or spiritual authority in a way that elevates someone beyond what Scripture actually supports. Paul’s prison epistles were inspired Scripture written by a true apostle of Jesus Christ. That does not mean every preacher who writes from jail should be viewed through the same lens.
In this episode, we’ll examine the language surrounding Brian Carn, the way his supporters continue to speak about him, and whether this “epistle” reflects genuine repentance, accountability, and humility—or another attempt to preserve a prophetic image while facing serious consequences.
