I've been waiting for this for SO LONG!!
No seriously since 2023 (and even a lot earlier than that... I was suggesting sonic parties in the 90s!) it's been my dream to play a flat out, no holds barred all Sonic rave where we can all go nuts to the REALLY high power tunes that are so hard to get on the floor most other times - and Cosraves took me up on the suggestion to run it as I'd played for them a few times!
We got to have a 3 hour rave at Deluxe Bar, Melbourne - 8pm - 11pm, some of the coolest cats, happiest hedgehogs and roundest robotniks you've seen streaming in to dance to a special set I'd developed over the course of a few weeks - but really, this set was the outcome of decades of music collecting from all over the internet.
There's songs from the OCReMix early days, modern youtuber music from Silent Dreams and Miles Workshop, official tracks from as many games as I could squeeze in there and my own original remixes - one of which had never been played anywhere before!
Thanks to connections I made while in the UK for Sonic Con, I was able to get my hands on a very special version of Live and Learn to play in this set - the MAGFest 2026 live performance - mastered specifically for this rave set!
And... I mean, Johnny Gioeli. What the hell, how did I get into this position? I'm pinching myself so hard, and I've watched it back a hundred times and still tear up every time, what a ridiculous moment!! It went exactly the way I hoped it would!
This was a dream come true and I hope to do something like it again with the sonic community - you're all amazing. A rave is nothing without the people dancing and enjoying the music, and you lot delivered on that in spades. Thank you!!
