I’ve been running the RecShaw RecRac Cargo System bed rack on my 2025 Chevy Colorado ZR2 for the past couple of months, and after real-world use, I finally sat down to give you my honest thoughts.
In this video, I break down what I love, what I don’t, and the small details that make this rack surprisingly smart in some areas—and slightly frustrating in others. There are a few design choices here that I genuinely think are genius, and a couple that I believe could use some attention.
Overall though?
Ironically I noticed on the manufacturer's site, they call this the "Ultimate Truck Rack System". Yeah, I'll say they earned that title. This rack is a huge home run.
RecShaw designs their racks around real-world use—whether that’s hauling gear, mounting rooftop tents, carrying kayaks, or supporting overland setups—and that philosophy shows in a lot of the details. The modular nature of this system makes it flexible, strong, and adaptable depending on how you actually use your truck, not just how it looks on a product page.
That said, no product is perfect, and I don’t gloss over the shortcomings. If you’re considering a bed rack for a midsize truck—especially a Colorado ZR2—this review will give you a clear picture of what it’s like to live with day to day.
