so that video j's reviews put out today taught me that the hd version of sonic unleashed actually has a cropped opening for that cinematic aspect ratio; the wii version, on the other hand, has a fully uncropped 16:9 aspect ratio. so, out of curiosity and sheer boredom, i put the two on top of each other to see what the differences were like. since they do exist; different places it's cropped, and seemingly even re-rendered scenes like when super sonic is being all cocky to a wilying eggman. was also a bit of a bitch to edit since they kept going out of sync. my workaround was making sure everything resynced when a new shot happened. so that was boring.
