My 2019 Yamaha MT-10 isn’t exactly known for having the latest motorcycle tech, so I decided to change that by adding something you normally only expect to find in a car: blind spot monitoring. In this video, I install Chigee’s radar-based blind spot detection system along with their CG BSD rearview mirrors, then take the bike onto a busy highway to see how well it actually works in real-world traffic. From detecting vehicles approaching from either side to warning me when cars move into my blind spots, I put the system through some seriously interesting tests while also seeing how much of an upgrade the larger mirrors are over my tiny bar-end setup.
