I put a Kawasaki engine on this crappy mower after finding it abandoned at the side of the road—and somehow, this $0 mower is getting a second life. The mower ran but had a major vibration, a badly dented blade, a likely bent crankshaft, and an oil leak. So I pulled a Kawasaki FJ180V engine from another mower and attempted a direct engine swap to bring this mower back to life. In this video, I show the Kawasaki engine swap, check the mounting bolt pattern and shaft dimensions, install the engine, fire it up, test the front-wheel drive, and share some tips for swapping lawn mower engines. I also explain what I look for when matching engines to mower decks, why direct-fit swaps are preferable, what Predator engines can offer, and what I plan to do with the old Briggs & Stratton engine.
