Today I’m breaking one of my own resin rules! 😬
For years I’ve said that while eco-resin and epoxy resin can absolutely be combined, the order matters. Epoxy can be poured over cured eco-resin — but pouring eco-resin over cured epoxy is a very different story. The smooth, non-porous surface simply doesn’t provide the permanent bond we need.
But then I started wondering… what if the epoxy wasn’t fully cured?
In this video, made in collaboration with Let’s Resin, I’m experimenting with pouring eco-resin over partially cured epoxy resin to see what happens.
And what happened? Well… some experiments worked better than others! 😂 There were failures, surprises and a few results that I genuinely wasn’t expecting. Along the way, I also discovered a beautiful three-dimensional effect that has given me plenty of ideas for future projects.
So, can we really break the rule — or is there a good reason I’ve been telling you all these years not to do it?
