It’s been about 25 YEARS since I really sat down and played the original WWF SmackDown! on PlayStation 1… and man, the nostalgia hit immediately.

Growing up, WWF SmackDown! was one of my favorite wrestling games and one of the games that helped define wrestling games for me. The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Triple H, Undertaker and that entire Attitude Era roster made this game something special.

I haven’t really played the original SmackDown since around the time WWF SmackDown! 2 came out, so we’re going WAY back for this one.

This is also the beginning of a little WWF SmackDown! mini-series on the channel. We’re jumping back into the PS1 era, revisiting the gameplay, the wrestlers, the memories, and seeing how this classic holds up 25+ years later.
