I found this glamor shots portrait at a thrift store.. thought I would paint on it. I had to animate an ad lib story about it. annnnd... yah.. painted some luchadores on top.

I walked in with a t rex arm.. and struggled to get my phone out of my pocket.. but it was pretty much smooth sailing from there on in the video.
When I put up the story on instagram asking if I should get this portrait.. I got more dm's replying to that story than any other past story.. so I got it.
I also made up an ad lib story about how the portrait ended up at the thrift store and put the prompts on my site.. the story is as follows: 0:49
sooo uh.. yah.. I got the picture out of the frame and got a clear plastic sheet to put over it so I could use a dry erase marker to draw out the ideas...
and you know from the intro that I picked the luchadores!
I had to cut the plastic sheet to fit and then was good to start painting.
It has been a while since I've last painted so bare with me...
before I dropped out of college (I said failed out in the video, but dropped out is more accurate ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) my professor told me that painting is like sculpting.. where you need to like... throw some paint on the canvas and mold it around and play with it till it looks good.
Thats how I like to think of it.. cause that's kind of how I paint.
I was having the hardest time figuring out the skin tones for these guys.. but as I went further into the painting I feel like I was sort of getting the hang of this whole painting thing...
Once I got it all done, put it back in the frame.. Because I painted on top of the plastic and got additional plastic sheets.. I could change the painting on top when ever I want!
I think it would be fun to do like a Christmas rendition where they have like ugly sweaters and Christmas hats.. so.. cool.
Soooo just have to hang up the painting in my house.. but I'm actually in the process of moving out.(Thats why the video was late sorry:/) so.... I guess I'll put it in the storage unit along with all my other stuff.
Alright next video is going to be about the instagrams carousel portrait.. and I have a favor to ask.
