On my way through France to meetup with the Tour de France I decided to take up a challenge the for Mens Health charity Movember, One week. 100 miles. One massive effort for the 100 men we lose to suicide every week across the UK and Ireland. To raise funds for Movemberโs lifesaving menโs health programmes.
I don't normally cycle far, I'm overweight and I'm 52, oh and did I mention I have a really badly injured left knee too, so I saw this as a huge challenge for myself and my little folding commuter ebike from Mirider which I'd just got the new version the week before.
I chose my parkups each day to allow for some good miles to be rode on my Mirider GB3, I love being near water so each parkup, as I worked my way towards the Alps to see some TdF stages, had, I'd hoped, decent canal towpaths to ride on, sadly that wasn't always the case and that meant getting used to riding on the main roads in France, which as it goes isn't too bad as most drivers do give you room and most roads have a cycle lane - ish.
