Stephen was the lead tenor in several high profile choirs and spent a decade as the cantor at St. James' Cathedral, Toronto where he met many celebrities including Desmond Tutu, Queen Elizabeth, King Charles and other members of the royal family.
He'll regularly be singing Victorian/Edwardian era songs (mid 1800's to early 1900's) at the Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum's Doon Heritage Village starting in summer 2026.
I MET THE QUEEN
I got a job in a cathedral choir,
Singing tenor, like a gun for hire,
As the Church of England's place to be,
We hosted the Royal Family,

We all got lessons in protocol,
Like speak when spoken to, or not at all,
Don't gawk or stare, or cause a row,
But after church you can courtesy or bow.

Bomb squad dogs come through with cops,
Sharp shooters up on building tops,
Ladies in hats waiting outside for hours,

RCMP staring out at the crowd,
The choir lines either side of the walk,
The Queen comes out to shake hands and talk.
