The Clash of Clans Update brings Carfted Defenses including the Crusher Mortar, Hook Tower and Flame Spinner. Judo Sloth Gaming gems his base to maxed level, which includes the New Ice Block Spell and Troop Levels. I only gemmed one Crafted Defense in this update since you can only activate one, and this meant by base was maxed strength wise. Let me know your thoughts though and if you would find value in all of the Crafted Defenses being maxed, as it is also important to be flexible being a creator if something becomes meta. I will explain more on my thoughts of Crafted Defenses on my second channel, Judo Sloth 2.
