PARENTS of two, Kimberly and Ismael, have gone viral online - and at first glance, you might think their height difference (Kimberly stands at 5' 7", towering over Ismael at 4' 11") is the reason. But Ismael is actually the twin brother of Kimberly's ex-husband, meaning she has now been married to both twins. Not only that, but she has also had a child with each brother, making her two sons - Landon (19) and Skyler (14) - "brothers and cousins at the same time". Kimberly became pregnant with Landon when she was just 18 years old, but found her marriage with Ismael's twin brother "really hard". As their relationship began to break down, Ismael's presence and support led to feelings developing - as Kimberly told Truly: "I confided in him a few things that were happening. There was a very subtle, intimate moment. I started crying because I knew that something woke up in me and it was definitely awake in him". Neither Kimberly nor Ismael had seen it coming, as Ismael recounted: "My intention was not to take my sister-in-law (back then) from my brother". But as Kimberly's previous relationship was ending, she fell pregnant with Ismael's son, Skyler - a secret they kept from everyone until after Skyler was born. Ismael was unable to be present when Skyler arrived, as the couple maintained pretenses that Kimberly's second child belonged to Ismael's brother. After coming clean, Kimberly was "disowned" and "kicked out" - so she and Ismael moved and started over with the two boys. Ismael immediately adopted the role of father to his nephew Landon, who told Truly: "I didn't really call him father - for a couple of years I called him 'Isma'. I just didn't really understand at the time that he would become the most important person in my life". When Kimberly then married Ismael in 2016, Landon gave him the ultimate seal of approval - promising to refer to him as his dad from that point forward. Now the family are enjoying the new life they have built, away from "the drama" they left behind - but they have run into judgement online, since Kimberly started creating content during the Covid-19 pandemic. Kimberly has had people ask, "Don't you feel ashamed that you married your ex-husband's twin brother?" and, "There were no other men in the world?" Others ridicule Ismael for being shorter than his wife and children. The family fully accept that their unique dynamic will continue to attract attention, but as Kimberly's attitude demonstrates, they are unfazed by the trolling: "I'm very confident in my family and my household so those things don't affect me at all". Even her sons seem to be taking a leaf out of her defiant playbook, with Landon simply concluding, "100% we are weird! You think we're a normal family. Oh no, we are not!"
