I decided to make a rolling industrial sewing machine table or cart for my overlock sewing machines. Merrow overlocks share the same foot print and so can be quickly swapped out and this is handy since there are so many iterations of them.
I made the table half the length of a full size ISM table so that two can fit in the same foot print as a regular table. My needs are constantly changing so the easy swap out of heads and the mobility of roll cart with locking casters is very handy.
The cart is constructed of poplar with a Baltic Birch top which has a plastic laminate surface for durability. I put on some nice locking casters so that I could easily move the table and lock them down to then have a sturdy work table. I made a drop down surface to mount the foot pedals on so that they would be close to the floor and nice to access and use. I placed a steel bar on its edge to resist deflection.
