I woke up absolutely freezing on day three of the Great Glen Way, but pushing through the cold was well worth it for the spectacular high-route views of Loch Ness. After packing up and making a quick pitstop in Fort Augustus for a pricey bacon and brie sandwich, Woody and I shipped off some extra gear at the post office to lighten our loads. Despite adding four unexpected miles to our journey, reaching the campsite with those breathtaking mountain vistas made the grueling 18.2-mile trek completely unforgettable.
