Today, DJ Peach Cobbler calls out racism in Sons of the Forest and implores Endnight to DOUBLE DOWN (for the purposes of good storytelling).
Sons of the Forest is the Sequel to The Forest, an early-access Survival Game which was incredibly popular during the mid-late 2010s but which quickly faded from relevance. DJ Peach Cobbler notices connections between both games and the accounts of early European explorers during the "Age of Exploration". There is a van outside my house which never moves. Endnight is an indie studio which has achieved incredible things despite their limited resources, but DJ Peach Cobbler argues that they need to hire a dedicated story writer and fully acknowledge the problematic tropes employed in the game, so that they may subvert them.
They’re literally two games into the franchise and already doing the “inter-dimensional travel” thing. Genuinely what. It took the hacks at Marvel like 50 movies before they pulled that nonsense out of the garbage. I could see the video attracting a lot of criticism, but I suspect absolutely no one will disagree with the fact that the story of Sons of the Forest is pure garbage.
