In 2021, I had Avi Loeb on my podcast to talk about Oumuamua and other things. I was fascinated by his talks on Rogan and Lex Fridman, I read through his credentials, which seemed legit, and then chatted with him for two hours on the pod. It was a good time.
Little did I know that there was a bubbling about Avi Loeb's grift inside the scientific community that exploded in the past year, exposing Avi as a fraud.
I need to be better with guest selection, and over the past year I've slowed down the frequency of my episodes to put more effort into each conversation. That includes choosing guests. I'd rather release better, less frequent episodes than have someone on just because I'm trying to fill a spot for that week.
