I think the storyline is clear...Angel feels like no one likes her, because her sister (Dannielle) said some things about her the whole city thinks she's awful. Her mother (Lady) starts helping Dannielle with the rumors, and after all that's just a part of the iceberg. Angel's father (Buster) abuses her constantly, so her body is full of scars, which makes the other dogs of her age laugh at her even more. Angel still tries to cover her pain up, saying she's fine and that she doesn't care about what they say or think. When she's alone sometimes she feels really bad and lonely, but after many years bearing it all she gets more calm and brave; she doesn't want the others to tear her apart.
