This Morning | 'I Had to Sell My House to Afford £1,900 a Week Dementia Care' | This Morning @thismorning | Uploaded October 2024 | Updated October 2024, 1 week ago.
In a bid to inspire change and help tackle this generation’s biggest health crisis, Anna Richardson is sharing her father’s story of vascular dementia in her new documentary ‘Love, Loss and Dementia’. Anna explores the realities of living with dementia, investigates the latest medical treatments and meets other families battling with the disease, including Mary and her husband Richard. Richard was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s at the age of 55 and after Mary quit her job to care for him, his increasingly volatile behaviour resulted in him needing to move to a care home. Anna and Mary join us today to share their stories and what changes they want to see to help families dealing with the disease.
