Researchers at King's College London have been studying the brains of successful entrepreneurs to understand the unique thinking patterns and cognitive profiles that set them apart, using surveys and brain scans to measure problem-solving, memory, and creativity.
► Some more info on the Study: What happens in your brain when you are being entrepreneurial? Entrepreneurial thinking goes beyond traditional intelligence tests and achievement in school. Successful entrepreneurs think flexibly and work outside the usual norms and rules, but can this be measured or even seen in the brain? Through a unique collaboration between the Entrepreneurship Institute and Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience at King’s College London, Emily and her team have spent the last few years researching what it truly means to be an entrepreneur. Initially surveying hundreds of people online to distinguish the personality and cognitive profiles of some of the most driven and innovative people in our society. Now, based on those findings, they devised a unique set of activities to be used during a brain scan with successful entrepreneurs, measuring problem-solving, memory and creativity. The result of which are still being analysed and written up for both Emily’s PhD thesis and for publication in scientific journals.
