'I guess I'd rather hurt, than feel nothing at all', is one sentence I'd use to describe The Doctor, I focused more on 10 because he seemed to have suffered more than the others in the series. The sentence is talking about how even though he's been through such pain, he wouldn't have it any other way because experiencing the pain makes it real and he rather feel that, than feeling nothing at all.
