Come along with me for another frugal day in the life! I’m starting with a pile of dented canned chicken that I ended up getting FREE from Walmart. The cans arrived dented and smashed, so Walmart refunded me and told me to keep them since they would otherwise just throw them away. Rather than waste perfectly usable chicken from cans that are still safely sealed, I’m finding ways to use it up—and tonight I’m turning some of it into an easy chicken curry dinner!
Then I’m showing you some of the AMAZING thrift store and yard sale bargains I found, tackling some much-needed organizing, and working on more projects around the garden.
I found some seriously unbelievable deals this week—including a $70 Hobby Lobby piece for just $2, a cute garden flower cart for $10, inexpensive sheets, fall decorations, Christmas finds, and even a Crate & Barrel cart that originally sold for hundreds of dollars! I love finding inexpensive things I can repurpose, decorate with, or sometimes resell.
I’m also finally getting my paint room organized after it became so cluttered I could barely walk through it. Most of my paint, brushes, stains and supplies came from garage sales and thrift stores for next to nothing, so it was especially satisfying to get everything sorted and usable again.
Then I head outside to keep working on my garden and pergola, hang some of my thrifted finds, transplant grasses, add old windows and mirrors, and start getting things ready for fall. Of course, not every project goes exactly as planned—and there are definitely a few “what was I thinking?” moments along the way! 😂
It’s a real-life mix of making dinner from what I already have, avoiding waste, bargain hunting, organizing, decorating and getting projects done without spending a fortune.
